Students in the Educational Opportunity Program were honored during a ceremony in Storer Auditorium.

Students in Onondaga Community College's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) were honored for their achievements during a Convocation Ceremony held April 18 in Storer Auditorium.

Those recognized included:

Attendees also heard from two OCC Alumni who now work in the public sector; Onondaga County Legislator Maurice "Mo" Brown, and Matt Jones who works in the office of New York State Assemblywoman Pamela Hunter. Both congratulated students on their accomplishments, and encouraged them to become active community members.

OCC's EOP Office is located on the second floor of Coulter Hall. EOP's mission is to provide access, academic support, and financial assistance to first-time, full-time students who show promise for succeeding in college but who may need additional support. The EOP Staff includes Director Denise Valdes, Student Navigator Najier Johnson, and Student Navigator Hunter Overstreet.
