Micron Technology is looking for its next group of summer interns!
Mike Guttman, Micron's Program Manager for Workforce Strategies, hosted an information session for students on September 29 in Onondaga Community College's Gordon Student Center Great Room. He spent an hour discussing Micron's role in the semiconductor industry, the important part interns play in its future, and answered student questions.
Eight current OCC students interned at Micron in the summer of 2025 - seven in Manassas, Virginia, and one in Boise, Idaho.
Nick Hay spent his summer in Virginia, working at the Micron Chip Fab there. "I loved it. Everyone I worked with was helpful and encouraging. For certain projects, my mentor made me take the reins and said, 'This is your problem.' It was motivating knowing they had that much faith in me to do it by myself and figure it out," Hay said. He will complete his Electromechanical Technology degree in December, and begin working at Micron full-time in January.
While Hay was in Virginia, Justin Kuneman was interning at Micron's Boise, Idaho Chip Fab. "There were so many things there I could recognize and interact with," said Kuneman. "I didn't feel like they had to teach me everything. A lot of it was surprisingly familiar considering the complexity of stuff going on there." Kuneman will wrap up his Electromechanical Technology degree next May, then begin working at Micron in Boise full-time.
The window is now open for students to apply for internships with Micron in the summer of 2026. The positions are paid, Micron offers a relocation fee, and 401(k) eligibility. Students must be on track to graduate in December 2026 or May 2027.
