Seamless Pathway to SUNY-ESF
Onondaga Community College (OCC) President Dr. Casey Crabill (pictured above on the left) and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) Interim President Dr. David Amberg (pictured above on the right) today signed an articulation agreement, giving OCC students pursuing degrees in Liberal Arts & Sciences: Mathematics & Science a seamless pathway into 18 different bachelor's degree programs at ESF.
Board of Trustees Approve New Name For Recital Hall
Onondaga Community College's Board of Trustees voted to name the Recital Hall in the Academic II building the "Frederick Marvin & Ernst Schuh Recital Hall" in honor of their tremendous support of the College's Music major. Marvin (pictured above on the left) was a world-renowned concert pianist. Schuh (pictured above on the right) was his manager and husband. Thanks to their generosity, two Music majors specializing in Piano attend OCC tuition-free.
Student Spotlight: Emily Durand

One year ago Emily Durand was in the process of working through some big decisions. She was a senior at Marcellus High School and feeling the pressure of having to plan her future. "I was very undecided about what I wanted to do for a career. When I applied to OCC I thought, 'I know they have a lot to offer.'" What she didn't know at the time was that her outstanding high school grades were about to open another door for her.

Spring Semester Starts with Art Across Campus
Whichever side of campus you're on, there is plenty of amazing art work to view. In the Whitney Applied Technology Center the best of the best from the Central New York Scholastic Art Awards is on display. Over 5,000 pieces of art from 80 to 100 schools are entered into the annual competition. They are judged by more than 70 professional artists, educators, and photographers. The winners are highlighted on all three floors of the Whitney building, which has been home to this competition since the year 2000.
Student Spotlight: Kristen DeFeo

GEN 154 changed the course of Kristen DeFeo's academic path. She was majoring in Human Services when she decided to take the three credit class known as Comparative Vocational Planning. It introduces students to methods of occupational planning and exposes them to available career choices. "It was lifesaving. I think everyone should take this class as soon as they get here. It made me realize I wanted to be a Business major.
