Website & Digital Content
Digital Accessibility Best Practices
Make your digital content accessible to everyone. From writing descriptive links and adding alt text to images to ensuring sufficient color contrast, small changes can make a big difference in how people experience your content. Explore OCC's digital accessibility guidelines, requirements, and resources to help create a more inclusive online experience.
Web Image Size Best Practices
Great images make your webpage more engaging, but using the right size helps keep your site looking polished and loading quickly. Before uploading an image, follow these best practices:
- Use the right dimensions. Crop images to fit the intended space and avoid stretching or distorting them. Download the guide to see all the recommended sizing!
- Optimize file size. Compress images before uploading to help pages load faster. Aim to keep files as small as possible without sacrificing quality.
- Choose the right file format. Use JPEG for most photographs, PNG for graphics that require transparency, and SVG for supported logos and icons.
- Keep it high quality. Use clear, high-resolution images that remain sharp on desktop and mobile screens.
- Consider accessibility. Add descriptive alt text to meaningful images so visitors using screen readers can understand their content.
- Follow OCC branding guidelines. Use approved imagery that reflects OCC's brand and maintains a consistent look across the website.
