Lessons Learned During Summer Research

Students who spent their summer doing high-level research at four-year institutions, and in one case a national laboratory, had the opportunity to share their experiences during Onondaga Community College's Science Symposium. The day-long event was held September 24 at Storer Auditorium. It featured a keynote address from SUNY Binghamton's Dr. Lisa Savage and Dr. Patricia DiLorenzo, student research talks, and poster presentations which gave attendees the opportunity to visit with students individually and learn about their research.

It was just two hours from home which was a good distance. Everything worked out."

Student Spotlight: Matt McCarthy

Matt McCarthy tried college right after he graduated from East Syracuse Minoa High School, didn't have the right mindset, and decided to enlist in the United States Navy a year-and-a-half later. "I was immature. I didn't take college as seriously as I should have. Now I know why I'm here and what I'm doing."
