Learn the responsibilities of an entry-level EMT professional to provide care in various settings to patients with diverse needs. Grow your critical thinking skills, and clinical knowledge, while learning how to effectively communicate with patients and other healthcare workers.  

You’ll practice responding to emergency calls ranging from car accidents, violent traumas, heart attacks, childbirth, falls, and other emergency care needs. 

This program consists of lectures, hands-on skills training, a field placement internship, and at least 10 live patient contacts prior to course completion. 

Note: This is an initial certification course and can't be used as a renewed certification.

  • This class uses a digital textbook and the college's learning management system. Participants in the program must have reliable access to a computer or laptop to complete coursework and assignments outside of the classroom.

Where you'll go

Students who successfully complete the course and psychomotor exam are eligible to become nationally registered EMTs and work with a local ambulance corps. Plus, you'll be able to easily continue your education and go for our 2-year Paramedic Certificate and Paramedic A.A.S programs!
