Student Spotlight: Colleen McGlin

- High School: Guilderland, class of 2002
Colleen McGlin is a community college student with a world of experience. She's earned bachelor's and master's degrees, served her country both here at home and overseas, and is now in her final semester as a student at Onondaga Community College. "I really appreciate this area after having been all over the world. I hope to stay here locally and work in either cyber security or computer programming and continue to serve my country in the military."
Census 2020: What You Need To Know
Every ten years the U.S. Census Bureau counts the number of people who live in our country and where they reside. Those statistics are used to make critical decisions about where government funding goes and how many congressional representatives each state has. The next census will begin March 2020. That's why Onondaga Community College is beginning a campus-wide push to educate all members of the campus community, especially students, about the census and the importance of being counted.
TBT Returning To SRC Arena!
The Basketball Tournament is returning to Onondaga Community College! Games will be played on campus July 31, August 1, and August 2. Boeheim's Army, a team consisting primarily of former Syracuse University players, will once again call SRC Arena their home.
Smart Sports
Onondaga Community College student-athletes had an outstanding fall semester both on the playing fields and in the classroom. Approximately 60 Lazers were named to the honor roll for their strong academic performance. Many of them are pictured in the group photo above. "We're so proud of each of the honorees," said Director of Athletic Mike Borsz. "They're commitment to being both outstanding students and outstanding athletes is what being a Lazer is all about.
