Advice on the 2019 Novel Coronavirus to SUNY Students, Faculty, and Staff
Recently, a new coronavirus - 2019 Novel (New) Coronavirus - was detected in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China that has not been previously found in humans. This coronavirus can lead to fever, cough and shortness of breath.

The criminal justice bug bit Brian Jankowski at a young age thanks to his uncle Mike. "He was a State Trooper. When I was a little kid he would come by with his police car and show me his gear. He let me turn on the lights and siren. It really stuck with me."
The OCC Effect: Matthew Artus, '18
Onondaga Community College was Matthew Artus' launching pad to success. Two years ago he earned a Fire Protection Technology degree here. Now he's about to earn a bachelor's degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. "OCC prepared me very well to get to this point. I'm forever grateful for that. Every professor I had taught with enthusiasm. Their passion was passed down to me and is helping me to succeed today."
Student Spotlight: Grace Norton

Word-of-mouth led Grace Norton to Onondaga Community College. She grew up in the southern tier and planned to attend SUNY Fredonia until a music audition there didn't go well. "One of my dad's friend is a music professor in Philadelphia whose audition at Fredonia also didn't go well. He told my dad we should check out Onondaga Community College."

Onondaga Community College honored its latest class of Alumni Faces during a ceremony March 4 in the Recital Hall in the Academic II building. The distinguished group of former students included a sports television producer, a humanitarian, an educator, and a banker.
