The best elementary school teachers are those who take children through a world of discovery, and instill a lifelong love of learning. Our Childhood Education program gives graduates an excellent start on becoming a teacher for grades one through six.

What You'll Learn

You'll  learn about the foundations of education, child psychology, and health and safety awareness. This liberal arts program includes SUNY General Education requirements and coursework in a pre-determined major. 

Where You'll Go

Graduates can go on to a four-year program to work towards a bachelor's degree and initial NYS certification in Childhood Education, Grades 1-6, or begin working as a teaching assistant in a private or public school.
