Certified to Teach Robotics

Students and those in the workforce interested in becoming certified in robotics can now do so at Onondaga Community College.

Professor Mike Grieb, Chair of OCC's School of Computing & Applied Technologies, was recently certified to teach robotics on FANUC brand technology. "FANUC is one of the world leaders in robotics. It's a pretty big deal to have a base for it here. They're popular in Central New York. Places like Schneider Packaging use FANUC robotics almost exclusively."

Honored for Service to Others

Dennis and Judi Hebert have dedicated their lives to helping others. They were recognized for their service November 15 when they received the 2022 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. "Deep down this gives us a sense of fulfillment and belonging," said Dennis Hebert '67. "I think there are others who have done much more in terms of fundraising. I look at this as a community involvement award."

Bringing Students and Employers Together

Yasmine Chatila came to Onondaga Community College's Computer & Applied Technologies Career Fair to get a head start on building her resume. She's a Computer Science major who will complete her degree next May. "A lot of jobs require experience which can be so hard to get. I'm here to network and get to know local companies to increase my chance of getting an internship or a job," she said.
