Class of 2022 and Retiring President Get A "Big" Sendoff
Onondaga Community College celebrated its class of 2022 with a festive commencement ceremony held May 21 in the SRC Arena. For many traditional-aged students who graduated from high school two years ago, it was the first in-person graduation ceremony they were able to take part in. The event was also a rousing sendoff for retiring OCC President Dr. Casey Crabill who was surprised with several "big head" likenesses of her throughout the facility.

Corcoran Grad Selected for Statewide Summer Medical Program
It's happened again! For the second year in a row, Onondaga Community College is the only two-year school in the entire SUNY system to have a student selected to participate in the Pre-Medical Opportunity Program. Only 10 students were selected statewide, and OCC's Everine Mukeshimana was one of them. The other students were all from four-year schools. "We are so proud of her and what she has accomplished during her time here," said OCC Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Director Denise Valdes.
OCC Recognized Nationally for Service to Student Veterans
Onondaga Community College was named a Military Friendly School for the 2022-23 academic year thanks to the outstanding support it provides in the Office of Veterans and Military Services. "This is a great honor. The designation is a reflection of the consistent efforts of all OCC faculty and staff to support our military affiliated students," said Steve White, Assistant Director of Veterans Affairs. White runs the office along with Erin Elliott, who serves as a Technical Assistant.
